Momentum Gathers of Christian Choice Campaign for London Assembly

Alan Craig Issues Final Call to London Voters to get on Board!

Alan Craig, Leader of the Christian Peoples Alliance, is calling on London voters to add to the momentum of the Christian Choice campaign for the Assembly by use of the peach-coloured London Assembly list ballot paper. To elect Alan to City Hall, an estimated 100,000 votes are needed from Londoners, or 5 per cent.

"The word has got out and I can see real momentum in our campaign to hit our goal of votes from 100,000 people. My message now to people who want to see a Christian world-view in City Hall, is: 'Get on board!' The train of Christian witness in political life is about to take a radical turn in its journey. It's time to be part of this wonderful story of grassroots activism and service. "

"Wherever I have gone across London in recent months, the public have been amazed that the PR system permits other voices to be heard in London government", says Alan, "and not just the tired old secular parties."

Speaking at a breakfast meeting at Holy Trinity Church, Brompton for politicians from across the political divide, Alan explained that he is seeking first votes for London Mayor so that a message is sent to the political establishment about the importance of Christianity. Alan is emphasising that the second vote is not wasted because it could be transferred.

David Campanale, Assembly List candidate for the Christian Choice, added,

"We are realistic about Alan's mayoral bid. But in 2000 and 2004, nearly 100,000 people gave a vote to the Christian Peoples Alliance and Ram Gidoomal for London Mayor. So we know the public back our vision of hope.

"If the same number vote Christian Choice on the Assembly List, not only will Alan be elected, we will likely beat back the threat of the British National Party. In particular, Christians thinking of voting Conservative or Labour on the top-up List run the risk of wasting their votes, because of how PR works. They have to think prayerfully and act wisely. "

"Please therefore vote Alan 1 and Christian Choice on the peach ballot paper to elect Alan to the Assembly. God-willing, we will also see Paula Warren elected too."

To help voters confused by the system, the Christian Choice have launched a new website www.wastedvote.org.uk to explain how the voting process works.

The Christian Choice Election Broadcast

"Among all the candidates running for London Mayor, Alan Craig stands out above the crowd. He has shown leadership in industry and for years he's been devoted to bringing change to the inner-city through serving the community in London's East End.

But it is his Christian qualities which make him distinctive - brave in facing-up to political correctness, standing by ordinary Londoners and confronting issues like the threatened Mega Mosque, which other politicians won't touch. London won't do better than to choose Alan for Mayor."
