Matt O'Connor: Don't Vote for Me - Vote for Alan Craig, Christian Choice

Former London Mayoral candidate for the English Democrats, Matt O'Connor, is calling on Londoners not to vote for him in elections this week, but to give their votes to Alan Craig and The Christian Choice instead. Mr O'Connor ended his campaign last week after a dispute with the party over campaign strategy.

Since then it has been rumoured he was planning on standing as an independent.

Said O’Connor, “I want to reaffirm that I have resigned from both the party and the election race. After discussing the matter with my family and children, we decided we would all be voting with our consciences and that meant voting for Alan Craig and The Christian Choice.”

“They will have our 1st votes for London Mayor and our Assembly List votes as well. They are are the only party serious about standing up for families and our capital’s children.”

"The political establishment needs to re-focus on families and that was the only reason I agreed to stand in the first place, to bring attention to the fact that families have been routinely let down by this government.”

“My decision to stand was for the children of London so it makes sense to help Alan continue that work and I know Christian Choice will do that, not just as pledge as part of their campaign, but they will follow it through after Thursday. The political establishment needs shaking up and the Christian Choice are going to do it on Thursday."

O’Connor said today that he and members of his family had received abusive texts and emails over his resignation which had caused them alarm and distress.

Matt joins other former London Mayoral candidates backing Alan Craig's bid for the Assembly. Earlier, Winston MacKenzie, Brian Haw and Frank Maloney signalled he has their support. And the Evening Standard reports Brian Paddick the Liberal Democrat is also considering giving Alan Craig one of his mayoral votes

Alan Craig looks at the work of the Street Pastors

"In 2000 and 2004, nearly 100,000 people gave a vote to the CPA. If the
same number vote for the Christian Choice list this time, Alan Craig will
cross the 5% threshold and be elected onto the London Assembly."
